DAVE:  HELP, POLICE...CAMBRIDGE LAMBRETTA WORKSHOP are coming to Bristol 'to smash my teeth down my throat'. How the mighty are falling! This industry is seriously in trouble! When a big firm with so much history like Cambridge Lambretta Workshop is resorting to threats of violence against other traders - there is obviously a big problem. It started over their purchase of a new scooter buddy seat that they bought from us on ebay for just 99p (yes - ninety nine pence) plus postage. Instead of contacting me about the seat, they left a vindictive little comment on feedback which I responded to as sad and pathetic, as they were obviously trying to discredit us. The next thing I get this phone call from them calling me a 'prick' and a 'little cunt', they're going to 'smash my teeth down my throat' and I'd better stop 'nicking work of them on the internet'. Blimey, calm down lads. No, no joke, he actually said he was coming down to see me soon. This threatening phone call was unbelievably followed up by an email from the Cambridge shop telling me that the person who rang had just got out of prison. Now I am actually scared because only hard people go to prison eh? Should I tell the Police in case the Cambridge shop do come down and attack me? Should I stop competing with them for trade on the Internet?

DAVE: We keep hearing from UK dealers that Scooters India Limited (SIL) have stopped production of GP200 engines, frames and bodywork; even that they've destroyed or modified tooling for these items. But New Delhi wholesalers seem to be fully stocked.

DAVE: Scootering Magazine has been running a campaign recently blanket-criticising the mechanics of imported foreign 'restorations'. We ask 'do you not realise that there are plenty of bodgers in the UK?'. Why send your writers to Vietnam or waste money on them importing a restoration from Bangalore just to pick it apart; when you can see the atrocious state of some restorations done here in the UK? Get over it lads; a lot of people want cheap Lambrettas and Vespas, obviously they're not going to be perfect.

DAVE: Pleased to say we survived last year's recession affected scene, hoping for an explosive season this year. Good luck to all our customers with work and money and Happy New Year.

DAVE: Just bought what could be the last brand new  GP200 frames from the SIL factory in India. They've been discontinued at the factory now. Should be here on our next container import in March.
