The Indian Lambretta Price Guide (FOR USE IN THE UK)

We do not differentiate between private-owner valuations and dealer-owner valuations. Our price guide values Indian scooters at what we believe is their current worth in the UK, whether they belong to an individual or a scooter dealer. As far as we are concerned, if a dealer wants to add to the suggested price in return for warranty, after sales services or guarantee then that is for the customer to judge. We believe there is no justification for a two-tier price guide, especially for scooters in ‘rough’, ‘good’ or ‘reasonable and MOTable’ condition. The purpose of our price guide is to value Indian Lambrettas, not suggest a profit margin for dealers who purchase from individuals.

Our valuation table is based on a combination of market and consumer demand,  supply and availability (rarity).

NOTE:
Because of the rarity of
the Lamby Polo in the UK, the value of 'spares only' is limited to those usable on a LI150.

Lamby Polos that are complete (with indicators etc.) are very rare in Europe. They are rare even in India. The MAC 175 is even more rare.

Spares Only

Complete but purely for the sale of whatever spares are salvageable including engine.

Rough Condition

Complete, may start but ‘rough running’. Bodywork needing attention and/or new parts. Requires body work before painting.

‘Reasonable and/or MOTable’

Reasonable bodywork that may need some minor rectifying before painting. No new body parts required. Engine in good running condition and good reliable electrics. Will go through an MOT without extensive work. Hence good tyres, brakes, cables, speedo, lights, suspension, exhaust.

Good Condition and MOT'd

Presentable, with reasonable to good paintwork (no dents, rust or prangs). Clean engine in good running and serviceable condition. MOT certificate. Good reliable electrics and controls.

Fully restored, recon engine

Fully restored scooter with excellent paintwork, having been completely stripped down. Rebuilt with all the correct parts and a fully rebuilt new or reconditioned engine with no worn or defective parts. On the road.

Very Good Condition (omitted)

Price will fall between Good Condition and Fully Restored. It may be a scooter that was restored but has now receded in its condition.
